The Tempo Sonnet E2P issue is now resolved, I replaced the cabling (twice), and which did not resolve the problem - but ultimately discovered that the eSATA aperture within the external drive enclosure was preventing the cable from inserting 100% in to the eSATA connector receptacle - that said, it moved less than a millimeter after I'd used a small power-tool to enlarge the aperture - and that cured the trick - so the card itself is fine.Īnother minor issue is that the twin factory fitted DVD burners seem slow in comparison to an external firewire Philips burner I use (which was quite cheap drive).
The card is picked up within System Profiler as "Other Mass Storage Controller" but thats my lot - nothing else so far as I'm able to tell. ( A previous post from another 8-core user said he was using a Sonnet Tempo SATA E2P card without problems.-Mike) Driver installs fine, no notable issue except of course for it not seeing any external SATA drives.
